Terms of Use for Voxium

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Voxium ("the App"), developed and maintained by David Picknell ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The App

Voxium is a free audiobook reader for iPhone and iPad. It can import PDFs, EPUBs, DOCX files, text files, webpages, and pasted text, then narrate that content using an on-device voice or an optional third-party cloud voice. It can also export a document as an audio file.

2. Your Content and Rights

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights to import, process, narrate, export, reproduce, distribute, or share any document, webpage, text, or audio used with Voxium. Use the App only with content you own or are otherwise permitted to use, such as your own material, public-domain works, or content for which you have a licence or other right.

You must not use Voxium in a way that infringes copyright, privacy, or other rights of another person. You are responsible for how you use and share exported audio.

3. On-Device Voice

The on-device voice requires a one-time model download from Hugging Face. After download, it runs on your device. Model availability, download speed, storage requirements, and voice quality may vary by device and network conditions.

4. Optional Third-Party Services

Voxium can connect to MiniMax, ElevenLabs, Fish Audio, and Groq when you choose to use them and provide your own API key. These services are operated independently of Voxium. Your use of them is subject to their own terms, privacy policies, availability, content rules, and pricing.

You are solely responsible for obtaining and keeping any required API key, monitoring your usage, and paying all charges billed by the third-party provider. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, their output, their availability, or charges on your account.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes;
• Violate the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of others;
• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or misuse the App or third-party services;
• Use another person's API key or account without their permission.

6. Availability and Changes

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of Voxium at any time. Features that depend on Apple, Hugging Face, iCloud, or a third-party provider may be unavailable, changed, or removed without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or that every feature will work on every device.

7. No Warranties and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Voxium is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for loss, corruption, or unavailability of documents, settings, reading progress, exported audio, or iCloud data; third-party service failures or charges; inaccurate or unsuitable speech output; or indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

8. Termination

You may stop using Voxium at any time by deleting the App. We may suspend or restrict use of the App if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Voxium after updated Terms are published means you accept the updated Terms.
