These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Budgextra application ("the App"), developed and maintained by David Picknell ("we", "us", "our"). By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the App.

1. Description of the App

Budgextra is a personal budgeting app for iPhone and iPad that helps you track monthly bills, expenses, income, and balances.

All data is stored locally on your device and, if enabled, synced across your Apple devices using Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit).

Key features include:

• Monthly bill tracking with due dates and payment status
• Manual expense tracking
• Income recording
• Balance calculation with automatic carry-over between months
• Optional overdraft tracking
• Manual balance adjustments
• Optional Face ID protection
• Optional iCloud sync and backup

The App works fully offline. An internet connection is only required for iCloud sync when enabled.

2. Data and Privacy

All financial data entered into the App is stored locally on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud sync is enabled, your data is synced to your private iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit.

We do not operate servers, collect personal data, or have access to your financial information. Your data remains under your control at all times.

3. No Financial Advice

Budgextra is a personal budgeting tool designed to help you organise and track your finances. The App does not provide financial advice, investment guidance, or professional accounting services.

All figures and balances displayed by the App are based solely on the information you enter. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of your data and calculations.

4. Accuracy of Information

The App performs calculations based on user-provided data. We do not guarantee the accuracy of balances, carry-over amounts, or overdraft figures.

You are responsible for:

• Entering accurate bills, income, and expenses
• Verifying balances against your actual financial records
• Correctly configuring overdraft limits if using that feature
• Maintaining your own financial records

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the App only for lawful personal budgeting purposes
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the App
• Not interfere with the App’s functionality or iCloud sync
• Maintain the security of your device and iCloud account

6. iCloud Sync

iCloud sync is provided by Apple and is subject to Apple’s terms and conditions. We are not responsible for:

• The availability or performance of iCloud services
• Data loss caused by iCloud sync issues or conflicts
• Changes to iCloud features, limits, or availability

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

• Financial loss resulting from reliance on App calculations
• Data loss due to device failure, iCloud issues, or app removal
• Inaccurate balances caused by incorrect user input
• Overdraft charges, late fees, or financial penalties
• Indirect or consequential damages of any kind

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

8. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling the App removes locally stored data from your device. Data stored in iCloud may persist until deleted by you.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
